Necklace Sizer

Necklaces are more than length — they frame your face, highlight your neckline, and set the mood of your outfit. This guide will help you find the perfect length and layering style, so your Aurora jewels feel effortless and intentional. ✨

Standard Necklace Lengths (U.S. Sizes)

Length Name Where it Falls
14 in / 35 cm Choker Snug around the neck
16 in / 40 cm Collarbone Rests at the base of the neck
18 in / 45 cm Princess Just below the collarbone (most popular everyday length)
20 in / 50 cm Matinee (short) Above the bust
22–24 in / 55–60 cm Matinee (classic) At or just below the bust
28–36 in / 70–90 cm Opera Drapes over the bust, versatile for doubling
36+ in / 90+ cm Rope Long and dramatic, can be wrapped or layered

How to Measure at Home

  1. Use a soft tape
Wrap it around your neck, letting it fall to the point you’d like the necklace to sit. Note the length in inches or cm.

  2. Try with a string
If you don’t have a tape, loop a string around your neck, mark where it meets, then measure the string with a ruler.

  3. Layering tip
Choose necklaces that vary by 2–4 inches in length for a natural layered look. For example: 16 in choker + 18 in everyday + 22 in longer strand.

Styling Notes with Aurora Pearls 🌙

  • Chokers (14–16 in): Highlight delicate baroque or keshi pearls; pair with open-neck or scoop-neck outfits.

  • 18 in Princess: The most versatile — our Edison pearls and daily soul necklaces shine here, easy to wear with any neckline.

  • 20–22 in Matinee: Elegant length for workwear or evening — gives your look a soft elongation.

  • 28–36 in Opera / Rope: Statement-making, perfect for layering or for rare, one-of-a-kind baroque treasures in The Founder’s Collection.

Adjustable Chain Lengths

Most Aurora necklaces are designed with extension chains (usually +2 in / 5 cm). That means you can wear one piece at multiple lengths — tighter for layering, looser for comfort.

Fit Notes for Natural Pearls

Because pearls vary in size and shape, keep in mind that larger baroque or Edison pearls may sit slightly higher than the standard length. Each strand is strung to balance comfort, beauty, and natural flow.

Still Unsure?

Message us with your height, preferred neckline, or layering style — we’ll happily recommend a length that flatters you most. After all, jewelry should feel like it belongs to you, not the other way around. 💫
